MEET OUR OWNER
When I first began my journey in early childhood education, I never imagined the path God was preparing for me. I started working in a handful of childcare centers around Omaha as an assistant teacher. My goal was to teach children and be a positive presence in their early years. Very quickly, my passion for this work grew, and I transitioned into the role of a lead teacher for a school-age program at St. Andrew’s CEC. During the summer months, I had the responsibility of managing a program of 75 school-age students. That season taught me, strengthened me, and confirmed that caring for and guiding children was not just a job, but a calling I was drawn to.
When the school year resumed, I returned to teaching preschool part-time while also attending college to pursue my degree in Elementary Education. I was determined to deepen my knowledge so I could better serve the children and families entrusted to me. Over time, my dedication and love for the program led to new opportunities, and I was eventually promoted to the Director of the school. Stepping into that role was both humbling and exciting, as I was now able to help shape the vision, culture, and daily experience of the children, families, and staff we served.
Just a few short months after becoming Director, we discovered that we would need to find a new home for the school. It was a moment filled with uncertainty, but also faith. I knew in my heart that this program was worth fighting for and that the children and families deserved a place where they could continue to grow, learn, and feel deeply loved. With prayer, perseverance, and the support of two silent partners who believed in my vision, we set out to build what would become Family Ties Child Enrichment Center.
In February of 2018, we moved into our current home, and from that day forward, Family Ties has been more than a school to me; it has been my heart. Every classroom, every teacher, every routine, every smile, and every milestone reached is a reminder of why this journey began. I am endlessly honored to serve the incredible students, families, and staff who make up our Family Ties community.
At Family Ties Child Enrichment Center, enrollment means more than joining a program; it means becoming part of our family. We often say, “We are part of your village,” because we believe raising and guiding children is a shared journey between home and school. It is a deep honor of ours to be entrusted with your child during some of the most important and impressionable years of their life. During their time with us, we focus on nurturing confidence, character, independence, and a love for learning.
We also take great pride in helping shape your child’s first experience of what school should feel like. We believe it should be a journey that feels safe, joyful, encouraging, and full of purpose. By building strong routines, positive relationships, and early academic readiness, we help set the tone for a successful kindergarten year and a lifelong enthusiasm for education.
As a faith-based center, we intentionally lay the foundation of Jesus in our students’ lives. Through daily interactions, prayer, and Christ-centered values, we teach kindness, respect, gratitude, and compassion so children grow knowing how loved they are and how to love others well. My mission in life is that the students graduate from Family Ties knowing that Jesus truly does love them.
Lastly, we believe in true partnership with our families. When concerns arise, we will communicate openly and work together to guide and support your child’s growth. Just as importantly, we will be there to celebrate every milestone, big or small, their victories, breakthroughs, and proud moments. Together, we will cheer them on, encourage their progress, and help shape them into confident, capable, and kind young individuals.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s village and for trusting us with such a precious season of their life. It is a responsibility I hold with deep gratitude and great purpose.
With love and appreciation,
Amanda Hull
